Prof. Dr. Adrian Saftoiu is a Gastroenterology primary care physician specializing in digestive endoscopy and abdominal ultrasound. He also runs the Gastroenterology Department at the REGINA MARIA Central Clinical Hospital in Craiova.
Seeking to expand his area of expertise, Dr. Săftoiu further specialized in areas such as pancreatic and biliary disease, digestive cancers and inflammatory bowel disease by means of completing a plethora of traineeships abroad.
Apart from his vast clinical experience, Prof. Dr. Adrian Săftoiu has also enjoyed a significant scientific research activity. He has published over 250 scientific articles in international journals, with over 4,000 citations in articles. He also authored 23 volumes and subchapters, published at home and abroad.
Moreover, Dr. Săftoiu also devoted his attention to clinical studies, taking an active part in such activities and obtaining 7 international grants and 24 national grants for a total of 15 multi-centric clinical studies.
Throughout his career, Prof. Dr. Adrian Săftoiu has been the recipient of 15 national and international awards in recognition for his excellent results in the field of Gastroenterology.
