Dr. Mihaela Oros has been part of the REGINA MARIA Network since 2016, when she joined our team at Ponderas Academic Hospital with the mission of developing a high-performing Pediatric Sleep Medicine Center in Romania and putting together a multidisciplinary team specializing in pediatric sleep medicine. At present she is the coordinator of this center, treating children suffering from sleep disorders.
A doctor of medicine and a pediatrics and pneumology primary care physician, specializing in pediatric sleep medicine and polysomnography at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in the USA, Dr. Oros got involved in the development of pediatric sleep medicine in Romania and in the sub-specialization of medical doctors in this field. To that end, she founded the Association for Sleep Disorders in Children and Teenagers, whose mission is to educate healthcare professionals and provide them with valid and updated information in this field.
Throughout her career, she has made an essential contribution in the field of research, having published over 100 scientific works, presented in national and international medical conferences. Since 2014, she is the editor-in-chief of “The Romanian Journal of Pediatric Sleep Medicine” and is also a publisher at a website devoted to parents of children with sleep disorders.
Dr. Oros is also a member of prestigious national and international societies and a national delegate of the Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA), a global forum devoted to improving the treatment of asthmatic patients.
